Tell us something about your Company, when was your company founded, your location, in how many countries are you active:
Pepper.com as a group was founded in July 2014 and consists of eleven wider-reaching social commerce networks such as mydealz.de (Germany), Dealabs.com (France) and HotUKDeals.com (United Kingdom). We are headquartered in Berlin and are already active in eleven countries across the globe.
Your Business
What is your core business?
We understand ourselves as the world largest social commerce groups and operate social networks that are used by 25 million unqiue users every month to share and discuss deals from internet retailers and local shops.
How did you get to your business idea and when was your company established?
As mentioned before, Pepper.com was founded in July 2014, but consists of networks such as HotUKDeals and mydealz that were founded several years ago – in 2004, respectively 2007. We joined forces to leverage synergies between our local platforms – for example in the fields of product development, marketing and accounting.
Are you using Venture Capital? And if – who are your Venture Partners?
Pepper.com and our local platforms were bootstrapped and are still indepenent from external investors, retailers and manufacturers. Actually, this is one of our strenghts as consumers take trust in us as an unbiased and objective instance.
In which countries are you active? Are you planing to expand your venture in other countries? And if – where?
We are currently active in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Poland, South Korea, The Netherlands, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Where do you see the company in 5 years?
In our eyes there is Facebook for social contacts, Twitter for news, Pinterest for inspiration and Pepper.com for shopping. That’s the mission we are going to achieve.
Your Team
How many employees work at your company right now? Are you planing to expand?
More than 170 employees are currently working for Pepper.com and our local platforms. As we are still growing, we are happy to get in touch with potential new employees.
What is the average age of your team members ?
Most of our employees are in their late 20s/early 30s, the average age is around 32.
What kind of attitude should new employees have in order to work at your company?
We’re in the middle of a change phase, developing from several small, individual companies to one international organisation. New employees should be eager to support and enjoy this process, bring in new ideas and experiences combined with an open-minded attitude.
Team fit is very important to us which is why candidates often meet the teams before a job offer is being made. Everyone in the company loves taking over responsibility, enjoys flat hierarchies and is keen being a part of decision processes.
Why is it fun to work at your company? Do you offer any employee benefits?
We do strongly benefit from a familiar and open-minded working atmosphere. To maintain it and make sure that every team member is happy, we offer various benefits – not only the typical startup stuff like free soft drinks and coffee, but also monthly team events, lunch twice a week and a wooden bar stuffed with a good drop where our employees meet in the evenings to have a chat.
Besides this we offer everyone to develop, e.g. by attending conferences or workshops or by taking over responsibility for new projects.
Do you offer new employees a relocation service or help to relocate?
Yes, being an international company we understand the needs and feelings of employees from other countries and help them to relocate. We accompany them through the whole registration process in Germany, support them in their VISA process, help them to find an apartment and even give advice which kind of insurances they need.
We want them to perceive the process as easy-going as possible in order to put all their energy in their tasks and enjoy their time with us.

How big is your Office/Production Site?
Our headquaters office in Berlin has approx. 1,000 square metres of space and offers space for currently 50 employees.
Did you get help from an interior designer by designing the office? And if who did you work together with?
Yes, our office was designed by Martina Haag
