We visited the company myposter in Munich.

Here is the interview with Rene Ruhland, the co-founder and managing director of myposter. Have a look at their really nice office.

myposter is an e-commerce company specialized on digital printing products.

Your Business:

What is your core business?

myposter is a B2C online printing company specialized in wall decorations, photobooks and photoprints. We provide a plattform where our users can order via Website, App or Download software. In 2018 we will sell and produce more than 1,5 million individual photo products. Our 200 employees are spread throughout our 3 locations, Munich, Dachau und Thalheim (near Leipzig)

How did you get to your business idea and when was your company established?

Me and my brother Marc founded myposter in Dachau in 2010. The company grew out of a wholesale business. Before we started selling online, we were a supplier for the furniture retail market. Are you using Venture Capital? And if – who are your Venture Partners?

We never raised any capital, we had some Business Angels who helped us financially in the beginning.

In which countries are you active? Are you planing to expand your venture in other countries? And if – where?

We are active in 8 countries. Currently in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Belgium. However, we are looking into expanding in more countries.

Where do you see the company in 5 years?

Our goal is to become one of the biggest B2C online printing companies in Europe. To achieve that we constantly challenge ourselves and try to develop very convenient online experiences for our customers. We also continuously optimize our productions facilities in order to achieve the highest quality as possible!

How many employees work at your company right now? Are you planing to expand?

Our team consists of around 200 employees right now – and we are growing continuously.

What is the average age of your team members?

The average age of our employees is 33 years.

How many different nations are in your team?

Currently, we unite employees from around 27 different nations at myposter.

What kind of attitude should new employees have to have in order to work at your company?

If you want to work at myposter, you should be open-minded and be willing to tackle new challenges everyday. You should like high speed and teamwork. We like people who burn on our theme and are as ambitious as our goals.

We try to do whatever is possible to keep our employees motivated, starting at great work challenges as well as offering them a nice working atmosphere.

We hang out together after work and also organize various fun activities and company events.

We also support all kinds of further education such as conferences and meet ups. We also have free beverages and have an employee car program.
