Your Team
How many employees work at your company right now?
Currently trivago employees over 1000 entrepreneurs.
What is the average age of your team members ?
The average age within the company is 28-years-old, however there is no ‘mold’ to a trivago talent— we come from all different backgrounds, cultures and ages.
What kind of attitude should new employees have to have in order to work at your company?
Entrepreneurial passion, focus and authenticity are just some of the qualities we look for in our talents.

Why is it fun to work at your company? Do you offer any employee benefits?
Working at trivago is unique; the environment caters best to those who are looking to learn more, and get more, out of their normal day-to-day lives.
We wouldn’t call them benefits really, but rather ways to make everyone feel more at home. We have over 63 nationalities working in one place, so creating an atmosphere of trust is key.
We have a ‘self-determined’ style of working— meaning there are no set ‘office’ hours or holidays. Rather than time, we use proof, and results, as a measure of productivity.
Additionally, we have over 80 self-organized sports activities going on at any given time, as well expert-led ‘academies’, which cover a very wide variety of topics.
Every year, trivago also goes ‘Ontour’ —i.e. Four nights spent in a surprise destination—but this isn’t your average company trip.
We also have something that we call ‘working-in’, where the team in Düsseldorf has the opportunity to fly to Spain (and visa-versa) and work from our office in Palma de Mallorca for up to one month per year. While there, they can live in the trivago villa and get to know the local team.
This year we were voted as one of Germany’s top ‘Great Places to Work’. Honestly, these are only a few things we do at trivago. These are only a few things that make trivago, well. If you would like to learn more, take a look at our careers page http://company.trivago.com/careers/ .

Do you offer new employees a relocation service or help to relocate?
Moving to a new city can be intimidating, but moving to a new country (as many of those who start at trivago do) isn’t always easy— so we do our best to make the transition as seamless as possible.
In addition to their first ‘on-boarding week’, we have a number of ‘trivago flats’ where many new on-boarders can stay, while they’re getting started.
Otherwise, we help our on-boarders get their government documents sorted, insurances covered, moving companies contacted, etc.
Even if the means sending someone to translate when it comes to arranging an apartment. We also offer in-office German courses to help our new talents get started.
Do you have a job board? Yes, here.

Your Office
How big is your Office/Production Site?
The trivago HQ is spread across three neighboring buildings: Deep Grey (in the former IBM headquarters), the Sky Office near Kennedydamm, and B1 (the former Veba Office).
We are also in the process of building a new Campus, you can read more about it here.

Did you get help from an interior designer by designing the office? And if who did you work together with?
Yes, we worked with Raum.Atelier

Thank you trivago Team for this interview and the photoshoot!
