A TOUR OF RENT24'S OFFICE IN BERLIN

We visited the company rent24. Here is the interview – and have a look at the team and their cool office in Berlin.

Tell us something about your company. When was your company founded? Where is your location?

rent24 was established in 2015 in order to create a concept to support the entire business world – either through offices, accommodation, events or networking.

As one of the leading coworking and coliving provider rent24 is expanding fast and will open up to eight new locations in 2017.

We just announced the second location in Berlin with more than 7,200 sqm at Gendarmenmarkt. In each location, from sole trading startup entrepreneurs to established companies with large teams, rent24 lets you benefit from all the advantages of a shared economy community.

YOUR BUSINESS

What is your core business?

The core business of rent24 is offering fully equipped working spaces for coworking as well as convenient and stylish micro apartments for coliving.

Each location has a unique touch, but lets you flow in the inspiring rent24 design. Overall, the aura comes with the community.

Through networking events, an intranet and the personal connection in-between the members, people grow together and profit from numerous synergies.

In addition, rent24 established the accelerator r24-ventures in order to support promising new ideas and products.

With international mentors and special programs to help the early stagers with their needs, this offers an additional benefit from having a rent24-membership.

How did you get to your business idea and when was your company established?

I am active in the Startup-scene since more than 15 years. In this time, I founded, sold and consulted companies as well as advised investors.

I experienced how “old-fashioned” the real estate industry was and how inconvenient for startups and entrepreneurs.

Therefore, I established the rent24 concept: Inspiring designed office space hosting innovative startups and established companies.

The atmosphere at rent24 spaces is incomparable and thus creates a unique network.

In which countries are you active?

At the moment, rent24 is active in Germany and the Netherlands. The flagship coworking space is located in central Berlin, right at the famous Gendarmenmarkt.

Besides, we have several locations in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich and Dortmund.

In addition, we see a huge potential in Amsterdam. As a result, we will open there two coworking spaces.

One in the Bridge Building and another in the historical buildings of the Magna Plaza department store.

Are you planing to expand your venture in other countries? And if – where?

We are expanding fast and plan to open about eight new locations in 2017. In future, we want to be represented in Germany, Europe and worldwide.

Where do you see the company in 5 years?

Business as well as people are changing the way they operate, behave and react.

The rent24-concept unifies the requirements of a work-life-balance, which explains the high demand in memberships.

How many employees work at your company right now? Are you planning to expand?

Currently we are a team of more than 30 people, and are constantly growing when hiring new talents.

What is the average age of your team members?

We are a multicultural team and members of all ages and professions, which creates the perfect spirit. The average age is about 29 years.

What kind of attitude should new employees have to have in order to work at your company?

Highly motivated team player with a creative mind fit perfectly into the rent24-team. We support each other, also when this means voicing constructive criticism.

Everybody is open-minded and all are working towards the same vision.

Moreover, be prepared to have different cakes each day from our several foodies and confetti for your birthday.

Do you offer new employees a relocation service or help to relocate?

We have an on boarding process and therefore give our best to help new employees when relocating.

In cities where we offer coliving, new team members can accommodate there at the beginning.

When employees change the city they work for us, we help them organizing a flat.

YOUR OFFICE

How big is your Office?

Just the rent24 Flagship Coworking Space in Berlin offers more than 700 desks.

The smaller space in Berlin-Schöneberg has another 150 seats and more locations in several cities are going to follow soon. They all range between 1.500 m² and up to 7.500 m².

Did you get help from an interior designer by designing the office? And if who did you work together with?

We worked together with the interior designers from Ivy´s Design. Additionally, we cooperated with 99chairs. Meanwhile we employed several architects and interior designers in order to have the design process in-house in future.
