Founded in 2000, b-to-v Partners is a venture capital fund as well as the leading network of investing entrepreneurs in Europe. The firm combines the industry expertise and experience of its members with the venture capital expertise of its investment team.
With investment teams in Internet & Mobile and Advanced Technologies, b-to-v Partners invests EUR 25mn per year in high growth companies with ticket sizes from EUR 0.25mn to 3.5mn.
With offices in St.Gallen and Berlin, the firm has more than EUR 200mn assets under management.
Your Business
What is your core business?
b-to-v’s core business is investing in startups. We conduct that business either through one or our venture funds or by structuring co-investment syndicates of our members to participate in a fundraising round.
How did you get to your business idea and when was your company established?
b-to-v combines the specialist expertise and experience of the entrepreneurs in their network with their own team’s many years of expertise in venture capital.
At the core of the b-to-v philosophy is this joint investment and the pleasure taken in providing mutual financial, practical and personal support from one entrepreneur to another.
In which countries are you active? Are you planning to expand your venture in other countries? And if – where?
We are active primarily in the German-speaking region but that is not to say that we do not make investments throughout Europe and in the United States.
Where do you see the company in 5 years?
We will be one of the most successful and well-known VCs in Europe! 😉

Currently we have 18 employees working at b-to-v.
What is the average age of your team members ?
Average age of the team is around 34 years old.
What kind of attitude should new employees have to have in order to work at your company?
New employees at b-to-v need to be able to work well independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We are never doing the same thing and need to fully invested in the many different startup ideas we are supporting.
Why is it fun to work at your company? Do you offer any employee benefits?
We have an open and collegial relationship amongst our co-workers. We are able to joke with one another but also know when to buckle down to complete a more serious tasks. Once a year, we go on an all-company ski trip!

A close friend of b-to-v, architect, designer and artist, Reto Kaufmann is responsible for our fresh office spaces at our respective offices.
